Funny FAIL: Idiot Conservative Blogger Tries To Nail Sen. Sherrod Brown, Backfires

From Denny:  Talk about too funny.  Journalist and columnist Connie Schultz reported on what one of those crazy nut job self-labeled journalists emailed her about Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).  Hardball's Chris Matthews reported it.  I was laughing so hard I really did almost fall off my chair.

Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio is one of my all time favorite guys in politics because he is sincere and a straight arrow.  He works hard for the people of Ohio and the nation, one of the very few politicians left who is not purchased by Big Business Money or the lobbyists.  Right now, the Republicans are doing anything and everything to destroy him and get his seat for a nut job Republican.

Schultz had to have started laughing wildly as well at this nasty gossipy email or she would not have shared it.  She chose not to name the idiot conservative blogger that sent it.  Boy, does he have serious egg on his stupid face.  Come on, Connie, dish! Tell us all who the numb nuts is who was so lame as to not do his due diligence before firing off that idiot email. :)

Here is the letter she recounted:

Dear Miss Schultz,

We are doing an expose on journalists in the elite media who socialize with elected officials assigned to cover.  We found numerous photos of you with Senator Sherrod Brown.  In one of them, you appear to be hugging him.

Care to comment?

What was Schultz's reply?  Wonderfully funny.  Of course, with someone this incredibly stupid it wasn't much of a stretch.  She wrote back to the conservative blogger (assuming they were truly a blogger and not someone from the Republican war room of soldier political operatives):

Dear Mr. Blank,

I am surprised you did not find a photo of me kissing U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown so hard he passes out from lack of oxygen.  He's really cute.

He's also my husband.

You know that, right?

(You Dumb F - a Denny Thought of an easy read between the lines.)

Connie Schultz

Turns out that journalist Connie Schultz and Sen. Brown have been married since 2004.  And, if you doubt just how easy it is to take three seconds and google for a photo of Connie Schultz or Sen. Brown - or better yet together in the same photo - here's the link to what I found in record time.  If that blogger had bothered to read the text with the photos he would have figured out he was so very wrong.

Whoever this conservative blogger is must not have gone to journalism school or he would have learned to verify his facts before running a story.  If he did go to journalism school, then he should return and demand a refund on his money because they sure didn't teach him journalism basics.

Oh, and here's my favorite photo that just drives home the point that much sharper.  This photo and first review are from here, over at GoodReads:

. . . And His Lovely Wife: A Campaign Memoir from the Woman Beside the Man

Writing with warmth and humor, Connie Schultz reveals the rigors, joys, and absolute madness of a new marriage at midlife and campaigning with her husband, Sherrod Brown, now the junior senator from Ohio. She describes the chain of events leading up to Sherrod’s decision to run for the Senate (he would not enter the fray without his wife’s unequivocal support), and her own decision to step down from writing her Pulitzer Prize-winning column during the course of one of the nation’s most intensely watched races.

She writes about the moment her friends in the press became not so friendly, the constant campaign demands on her marriage and family life, and a personal tragedy that came out of the blue.

Schultz also shares insight into the challenges of political life: dealing with audacious bloggers, ruthless adversaries, and political divas; battling expectations of a political wife; and the shock of having staffers young enough to be her children suddenly directing her every move. Connie Schultz is passionate and outspoken about her opinions–in other words, every political consultant’s nightmare, and every reader’s dream.

And nothing like a little Mark Twain quote to make you laugh about this situation.  Come by and see what's new over at Denny Lyon Gifts where I'm developing a store to fund the Warriors Pearl Foundation to help homeless female military vets come home.

Reporting on the news - and reading a lot of it - spurred me to step up and contribute my artwork, photography and general creativity to helping these homeless women.  No one in America should go homeless, especially young single mothers with small children.  It's wrong that our government does nothing about it so I guess it's left to the rest of us to get the job done:
